Key Benefits
- Academically Oriented / Kindergarten Readiness
- With one-on-one attention received, the students in our transition
program thrive. Meeting four days of the week, the transition
- program is the perfect
stepping stone for the child who missed the five year old cut-off date or
the child who could benefit from
- another preparatory year
before Kindergarten. The curriculum we use is a Kindergarten
curriculum, which we take at a slower pace
- and spend a large quantity of time
solidifying the basics in early reading and mathematics.
-
- Christ-centered Curriculum
All of our programs, including the
transition program is centered upon Christ. We, as teachers, believe
our students are special
gifts
from God, equally
valuable creations; thus, we incorporate God in as much
classroom instruction as possible. We also have a designated half hour
of Chapel time, every other
week. Taught through Bible stories and songs, major
themes highlighted are: God's love, perfection and forgiveness, our
uniqueness in how He created us,
God's concern about each of us and our emotions, having thankful hearts,
allowing God to use us even though we are small, Christ's death, burial and
resurrection and much more! The
curriculum is purchased through ACSI, the Association
of Christian Schools International.
One-on-One Attention
The students in our
transition program benefit greatly from the small class sizes. Because
of the more intense Kindergarten
curriculum and the
need for more individualized instruction, the students in this class are
able to be monitored more closely to
ensure that appropriate progress is being made.
