Key Benefits
- Academically Oriented / Kindergarten Readiness
- Our four year old preschool
program is focused on Kindergarten Readiness. We pay special attention
to the requirements for
- Kindergarten, established
according to the PA State Standards. Our students will learn the
alphabet and their appropriate
- phonemes, basic math
skills, how to cut and write, along with many other basic skills. They
will participate in exploring the world
- around them in a safe and
structured environment.
-
- Christ-centered Curriculum
- All of our programs,
including the four year old program is centered upon Christ. We, as
teachers, believe our students are
- special gifts from God,
equally valuable creations; thus, we incorporate God in as much classroom
instruction as possible. We
- also have a designated half
hour for Chapel time, every other week. Taught through Bible stories
and songs, major themes
- highlighted are: God's
love, perfection and forgiveness, our uniqueness in how He created us, God's
concern about each of us
- and our emotions, having
thankful hearts, allowing God to use us even though we are small, Christ's
death, burial and
- resurrection and much more!
The curriculum is purchased through ACSI, the Association of Christian
Schools International.
-
- Kindergarten Screenings
- In late winter, our four year old program, as well as our transition
program, participate in the DIBELS Initial Sound Fluency
- screening to help us
determine students' weak areas and better prepare them for Kindergarten.
Before the conclusion of our
- program, we conduct
Kindergarten Screenings to recommend our transition program, Kindergarten,
or any other type of
- supplementary intervention.
